From a Covered Patio to a Plant-filled Dining Room
Tucci’s, an upscale Italian restaurant, is a long-time partner that came to us with a new challenge. After expanding their seating space and weathering the challenges of COVID-19 by covering their exterior patio with a large, heated structural tent, they decided to undergo a massive renovation, turning the tented area into a permanent structure. They envisioned an indoor plant installation that would mimic the ambiance of a lush outdoor courtyard and create a welcoming, life-filled environment for their guests. This project featured free-standing interior containers and one built-in banquette bed, all placed to elevate the aesthetic appeal and boost the dining experience.
Italian-inspired Design with Plants
The primary objective for Tucci’s was to integrate nature seamlessly into their modern, upscale dining space. The client desired a design that provided a lush, natural vibe while maintaining the restaurant’s elegant aesthetic. To achieve this, we incorporated large, ceramic planters with tall majesty palms and birds of paradise that thrive in the restaurant’s controlled lighting and temperature conditions. A selection of other plants, including ZZs and dracaenas, along with an underplanting of bromeliads, added visual interest with a mix of textures and colors.
The installation at Tucci’s exemplifies the perfect balance between client vision, execution, and sustainability. Through careful planning and thoughtful execution, we transformed the restaurant’s new space into a vibrant, nature-infused dining environment that received rave reviews at opening and continues to impress and delight guests.
