The red veins on these maranta leaves make this vining plant one of our favorites! It's a relative of the "prayer plant" family, so called because it will fold up its leaves at night like praying hands. This is a fast grower and while not a climber, it makes an excellent cascading plant over a ledge or shelf. These lovely, low-growing plants are native to Brazil.
Watering: Weekly. Marantas likes their soil to be evenly damp, but not soaking.
Lighting: Prayer plants like bright, indirect light--too much sun will scorch their leaves.
Toxic to Pets: No! Marantas are non-toxic to pets! :)
