Sporting solid green leaves in a charming heart shape, this hard-to-find and often misidentified plant originates in a section of the southeast coast of Brazil around Rio de Janeiro. A climbing or draping vine, the Sweetheart Plant or Heart Leaf Philodendron will reach for light and can grow quickly. Perfect cascading down a tall shelf, in a hanging basket or off a table or plant stand. They prefer medium or bright indirect light, and will survive in low light, but not thrive.
Watering: Weekly. Allow the top half of the soil to dry out in between waterings.
Lighting: Medium or bright indirect light.
Toxic to pets: Yes. Can cause lip and tongue swelling and stomach irritation.
