Members of the Dieffenbachia family make great, low maintenance houseplants. They can tolerate lower light levels, and they prefer to be under watered rather than over watered. The Camille variety is a gorgeous upright plant, with leaves that have dark-green edges that fade to creamy-white middles. Their high contrast foliage is dramatic and eye-catching!
Watering: water when soil is dry half-way down the planter, and do not let the pot sit in water. They do like humidity, so they'll be happy with an occasional misting!
Toxic to pets: causes mouth/skin/eye irritation, as well as throat swelling if ingested. Hence the dieffenbachia's nickname, "dumb cane."
