There are many gorgeous varieties of calathea, each with unique and painterly leaf patterns. Calathea Lancifolia has elongated, light green leaves with dark green "spots." These lovelies are native to Brazil and Central America. This particular group is tall, lush, and beautiful!
Lighting: They prefer medium to bright indirect light, but too much sun will fade their colors. They'll be happy in any room with a window and some natural light.
Watering: Weekly: calathea prefer consistently moist (but not soggy) soil and higher humidity. They would be happy to be occasionally sprayed with a showerhead or sink sprayer. If they start to dry out, you'll see their leaves curl up--if you see this, water them ASAP.
Toxic to Pets: NO! Calathea are non-toxic to pets! :)
