There are many gorgeous varities of calathea, each with unique painterly leaf patterns. Calethea Freddie has elongated, light green leaves with dark green "chevrons." These lovelies are native to Brazil and Central America.

Lighting: They prefer medium to bright indirect light, but too much sun will fade their colors. They'll be happy in any room with a window and some natural light.

Watering: Weekly: calathea prefer consistently moist (but not soggy) soil and higher humidity. They would be happy to be occasionally sprayed with a showerhead or sink sprayer. If they start to dry out, you'll see their leaves curl up--if you see this, water them ASAP.

Toxic to Pets: NO! Calathea are non-toxic to pets! :)
