Also known as the African Mask plant, the Alocasia Polly is an absolute stunner of a tropical plant. It has dramatic, broad, flat, arrowhead-shaped leaves that are dark green with light green veins. These tropical plants originate in the South Pacific islands, so they like humidity, and damp--but not soaking--soil.
Lighting: bright, indirect light. They can handle lower light situations, but avoid direct sunlight as it will burn their leaves.
Watering: they like their soil to be consistently damp, so water once a week. Alocasia Polly's like humidity, so it would be happy in a bathroom with a nice window, or even a kitchen.
Toxic to pets: Yes. Will cause mouth irritation and GI tract upset.
